I have a Canonet Giii ql17 that will meter correctly at an infinity focus, but when the focus is changed the meter needle follows. If the meter says f1.7 at infinity, it will be at f16 by the time I get to 1.5 meters in focusing distance. Is this a common problem or is my camera possessed? Dave |

Just a thought: maybe your camera is not set to auto mode, but to one of the flash guide numbers: 28, 20 or 14 on the aperture ring, then the meter indicates the right aperture corresponding to the distance, in Minolta's older Hi-Matics this feature was called "easy flash". |

Nope, it's on "A" - and fires on "A". I'm hoping I don't have to go into the lens too far to figure it out. My success ratio on disassembled rangefinder lenses is about 50/50. Thanks though! |
