I am having difficulties with removing the hotshoe on a Canon VL rangefinder, so I can take off the top cover. There problem lies with the "hot" pin, which also keeps the hotshoe and top cover in place (looks like a half dome with two little indents). It rotates about a quarter turn; but then I can't get it to go any further. The exploded diagram for the similar Canon VI shows shows what appears to be a spring loaded mechanism. Any advice? |
