I need some veteran advice here: I have a Petri 7s which has had some elements in the rangefinder come loose because the glue that held them in place has failed. There is a very small mirror positioned at forty-five degrees to bounce an image of the green rangefinder window, through the rangefinder mechanism, and onto the viewfinder mirror. The red arrow in my attached image shows where the mirror needs to be mounted. I was hoping that I could just neatly glue this back into place but it has turned into a bit of a nightmare trying to get it aimed correctly. I've tried tacky glue, shining a flashlight through the viewfinder to help me aim, but my best efforts yield inaccurate placement. Do any of you have advice as to how I should go about this delicate operation? Petri 7s viewfinder

Don't use super-(crazy)glue as it doesn't allows adjustments after you put mirror on place. Also it frees fumes which are told potentially fog optics in RF department. Use some good appropriate glue which hardens over time.

As you have very little chance to put mirror back in very same postion plus thickness of glue also will count in, consider major adjustment while glue is fluid and do fine tuning of mirror after glue will harden.

On this site is repair manual for 7s. There are no screws to adjust mirror like on most of FL RF cameras, instead you will have to bend and twist mirror post for this - two holes next to your arrow.

It didn't cross my mind to try bending the mirror post once the mirror is in place. Thanks for the advice - I'll give it a try this morning.

I was able to bend this back into the right position (more or less). It just feels wrong to torque on a camera like that.
The 7s seems like a nice little rangefinder, but this type of manufacturing shortcut makes me respect it less.
Thanks again for the advice.

Nice you have sorted it out. 7s has also some other shortcuts in it's construction, problem is - it has got nice lens, 45/1.8 at least. Every time I use camera, I say no, I have better cameras, but looking at pictures I say no, I just can't discard it. Yet it has very nice - short throw and smooth release button, much better than any fixed lens RF with AE.
