Black. Ok, seriously, try automobile paint. I leave metal parts heat up in the sun until it burns me to touch them (easy in Florida) then paint them. In other words, paint sticks to hot metal better with longer durability than if the metal is cold/cool. |

In Germany you can get "glossy oven/stove bake-in black" paint that is very close in appearance to the strong, glossy black of old cameras. Note: although the application procedure described on the can tells you to heat-treat the paint, this step is only required if the paint needs to withstand the heat afterwards. For general purpose use it's enough to let it get hot in the sun. Marek |
