I recently acquired a nice metal-body Pentax K1000 in great condition. I shot about a roll on it and all of a sudden the release button is getting stuck. What would you recommend as a fix for this? Should I take the top off of the camera and clean the button with alcohol? Should I use some kind of gear oil on it or something? Any suggestions would be much appreciated, I'm supposed to be heading to the mountains tomorrow morning and would love to fix this on my own tonight so I can bring it with me. |

I haven't actually repaired a K1000 but I would assume it just needs a little cleaning with a few drops of lighter fluid. http://www.pentax-manuals.com/markroberts/k1000_man.pdf here is a repair manual, page 11=removing the top cover. Maybe someone else can be more help, but I thought I'd throw this out there since you're in a rush. |
