My friend (very foolishly) gave me a Yashica minister iii as a birthday present. As a complete novice to these sorts of cameras of course i broke it!
The film advancing lever (excuse me if my namings aren't right, I'm a novice afterall) is jammed halfway and wont release or go back the other way. I cannot advance the film or even move the lever more than a few millemetres without it jamming.
I haven't got any clue about mechanics so i thought it best to not go messing around with a screwdriver without asking for help.
Is this a common fault or have I just ruined a really nice birthday present?
Any help would be really sincerly appreciated! Thank you  |

yes there is and i took about 12 pictures before it jammed |
