I have a Konica Auto-Reflex with a stuck shutter. It cocks fine, and the film advance works fine, but the second curtain won't close down all the way, and the mirror sticks up after firing. You can gently pull down the curtain and the mirror will return.
Any ideas on how to fix it?

I don't have anything specifically on the Auto-Reflex (I assume this is the original model and not one of the T series), but it sounds like the shutter may be dirty. Do you see a greasy smear on the surface of the blades? Sometimes the foam between the shutter module and the chassis rots and the tarry stuff it turns into gets into the blades. This can create a lot of resistance to the shutter's operation. If it's not that it could be dirt in the mesh of the gears of the blade operating mechanism. |

Your right, it is the orignal model.
That could be likely as the foam is crumbling pretty badly, I give it a try. Thanks. |

There is also a pad of foam directly under the baseplate that protects the bottom of the Copal shutter from dirt ingress. Carefully remove it, clean with lighter fluid and replace with a strip of modern material.
