Hi: New member, first post! I'be been using/collecting for years but rarely tried to self repair. Yesterday i picked up a very nice 1937 contax III as part of a larger lot of 12 cameras. I've never had one before and though i dl'd the manual i am not familiar with how it should feel. The advance knob which also raises & resets the shutter is very slow. Not slow like it's stuck on another part, but slow like whatever ancient grease is in there is thicker then molasses on a 0 degree day. I'd like to get it repaired but theres just no place around here (lancaster PA) I would prefer someplace I can drop it off & pick it up myself but if theres no other alternative I'm open to sending it out. Can anyone suggest anyplace around here or online ? Thanks |

Thanks for that Normal. I mailed him, I thought he'd be close by but he's actually back in my old home town. I'm a little gun shy about sending my camera off to someone I don't know. Has anyone dealt with this gentleman before ? |

Another suggestion is the camera repair service directory at http://www.acecam.com/srindex.html This is indexed by location, so you can find someone close by. |
