Hi, all - I picked up a Super Speedex today, and everything but the focus helical is in good order. I've (long ago) had a Karat helical apart, but don't even know where to start with this one. Any suggestions on how to get into this and clean/lube the helical? Thanks, Scott |

The focus mech. has the same basic design as on the Karat, right? I'd start by taking the shutter off of the front standard. There should be a threaded ring holding it on from the back. With the shutter off, it should be apparent how to pul out the inner helical. Mark all relevant reference positions and thread enrances, of course. My apologies if that advice is too obvious. |
