goo remover comes in many forms, it would be useful if you could describe what sort of goo you have, and where it is on your camera.

I think it is from the mirror damper breaking down and it is on the shutters

That is not a good place to have goo. You could try to carefully pick off any sticky bits with tiny tweezers and try to wash/wipe off the rest with cotton buds soaked in lighter fluid, then blow it dry with an air puffer (squeeze bulb device). As I said, not a good place for goo, best of luck.

I've cleaned goo off the shutter blades on a couple of EOS cameras I own. This was from a cushion beneath the shutter deteriorating, though. After a while, it works its way up the shutter blades and eventually gums up the works.

I used isopropyl alcohol and a handful of swabs to clean the shutters, but naphtha (lighter fluid) would work just as well, if not better.
