Hello I am looking for a domestic source for a film take-up spool for the Contaflex II. It seems that the Contax IIa spool is compatable, which leads to the question of greater availability of Kiev spools. Anyone aware of a source of reasonably (cheap) priced take-up spools? Thanks |

You could adapt the spool from an empty film cartridge, like here: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/kievspool.jpg Dirk |

The take-up spool for an Exa makes a good replacement for the Contax spool. It has the larger lower flange like the Contax (needed where the camera is designed to be able to take a cassette on the take-up side). Note, though, that you need the green ended spool from a lever-wind Exa. The spool from an Exakta, or knob-wind Exa takes up in the wrong direction. |
