I got this Watameter accessory rangefinder for a song on the Bay, it doesn't look like others I've seen, it has no external scale or adjusting knob (small knob on larger knob). I'm assuming if I need to adjust it, (which I do) I need to remove the 'dot' of leatherette to reveal a screw? |

I think so, but it has been an awful long time since I had one of these in my hands. |

I've got a Hugo Meyer similar to yours, and it adjusts by turning the silver-colored eyepiece. |

I have, which broke. The right dial on the right had a screw in that small center leatherette. I broke mine because you can easily over tighten and break the inside...... |

I have a similar Telex. On mine, adjustment was by focusing the rangefinder on a set distance, then you loosened two screws inside and adjusted the scale until it read that distance, and then tightened the screws. Unfortunately, the mirror had blistered so much that it wasn't seated properly and couldn't be adjusted. It's in the parts bin now. |

Mine has a screw on its LH side (right between your thumb and index finger in your photo) which is used to adjust focus. Can't see anything protruding from your though. Something's missing? regards Michael |

I removed the dot of leatherette in the center of the wheel, there is a screw under there for focus on this model |

Reviving an old thread here. I've found the Watameter instruction leaflet - on Paul Magyar's website - http://photos.simark.net/category/old-camera-gear/ - and he's kindly agreed that I can post it here. Scroll down to the part on the Watameter and the link is there. The .pdf is too big to post here and I haven't a means of shrinking it, or I would post the leaflet itself. If anyone else has adobe software that allows the file to be shrunk, feel free to do so and post it. |
