Hi!
i bought a Kodak Retina, with a compur rapid shutter. The shutter was sticky and the focus was stiff so i cleaned them both with lighter fluid. The shutter now works ok, except one thing: 1/1s is approximately equal with 1/25; 1/10 is approximately equal 1/100.
What do you think is the problem!
Thanks,
Mihai Besliu!

I think the problem is that you only did part of the job. The shutter needed a "CLA", Clean, Lubricate, and Adjust. You did just the "C" part. You really need to do the L and A processes too. It is probably that at some point the shutter speed escapement was removed and replaced but not adjusted.

Or... it could be that the speed ring is not properly installed.

Thanks! I'll put later some pictures! I also lubricated the shutter. I didn't adjusted anything because I didn't know very well what to adjust.
I'm 90% sure that the speed ring is properly installed!

Sure sounds like the speed ring is shifted. Pics would help. I didn't think the speed ring could be installed in a shifted position and then get the shutter to reassemble. However, I last CLAd a Retina/Compur at least 2 years ago, so the memory should not be trusted...

Look again at the shutter speed ring. It sounds like when you put it back together one of the little follower pins got stuck under the ring instead of in one of the slots. In addition to disabling the function of that pin (possibly the speed range selector in this case), this can also damage the lever that the pin is attached to, so it's best to check sooner rather than later.
