Does anyone know, what is under the little round plug just left of the accessory shoe? |

Just a guess, but it could be for adjusting the rangefinder. |

Thank you Waynemel. When I open the camera backdoor, there is a little screw inside a screwed hole, just under the rangefinder window above the film rail. Which of these is for vertical adjustment? |

Please have a look here - especially the last of the postings by Werner: https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/forum/messages/6901/3443.html?1099318930 And here: http://forum.manualfocus.org/viewtopic.php?id=14659 As it looks the one behind the backdoor is for horizontal alignment. Hope it helps |

And under the plug on top is the vertical alignment? So, I have not to remove the leatherette? Is that correct? Thank you! |

I don't have a 500 GX and never had one nor worked on one so that I can only repeat what Werner, who obviousely has a lot of expereince with those cameras has written: QUOTE Unfortunately there is no access to the screw from outside with the 500 G, whereas it can be reached from there by removing a tiny plastic stopper in the top plate of some versions of the 500 GX. UNQUOTE To me that indicates that the screw for vertical alignment can be reached without removing the top cover or the leatherette with some versions of the GX. Others here might know better.
