I want to start by saying I do NOT want this to be seen as bashing or a complaint. I'm honestly wondering what happened to this seller/site as I've never had issues with the past and am a bit concerned.
When it came to light seals, I've dealt with camerasealkits.com a number of times and always been happy. Nice kits, shipped fast, reasonable price. About a month ago I ordered a set of seals. A week goes by... nothing. Two weeks. No seals. I send an email to one of their addresses and get an automated response back about sending the camera in... odd, I didn't think I ordered that. Check my order and sure enough, I ordered the seals, not a service. I reply with this to the automated email and get the same one back.
I decide to just wait a week. I'm in no hurry, the camera works fine, I just want to give it the extra touch to make it that extra bit nicer. Still nothing. I send another email to a second address they have listed... wait a week, and nothing. At this point I'm really getting concerned, so I open a ticket with the help desk feature on their website Monday.
Today I go to check the site as I hadn't gotten an email indicating a response. It's not there! Sure enough, I check camerasealkits.com and I get the "This Website has stepped out" message indicating the account was suspended. Their other address (camerasealkits.org) has a working front page, but I get the same error on all the others.
I guess the point I'm getting at, is I can't be the only person on here who has used them before and been happy, yet now nothing is happening. Does anyone know if something happened to the owner? I can't imagine this site just up and stopped for some reason, as judging by the number of kits they offer they did a fair amount of work and they were always fast and easy to deal with for me so I'm hoping everything is alright. |

Hello, I ordered four seal kits from them over a month ago but have still not received them either. I tried contacting them on numerous occassions both using there various email addresses & ticketing system but got no reply whatsoever. They were quiet happy to take the money though, I have used them before & like you found them to be good so don't know whats happened to them either. I am now going through a Paypal dispute to try & get a refund. |

FWIW - Jon is a supporter of this site. A lot of his light seal instructions are posted here. Very honest and will gladly answer questions. I too am "only" a satisfied customer. |

Thanks for the link to Jon. I've heard really good things about his work in looking for new seal makers; I just went with this site since it happened to be the first result with google. Looks like he will be my source for seals now. |

Thanks guys...this seller has been caught many times in the past selling the instructions I wrote (the ones posted on this site) after removing my name. A crime? Yes, it is called copyright infringement. The kits you've been buying have been copied from the the work I did. Glad to see Jon posting here. His kits are the best, and the instructions he includes are worth the price of the kits. Very thorough, and the kits' quality is top notch. |
