While reading a Rollei service document called "Explanations" I saw that the symbol 3 inside a triangle does mean use "Screw Locking Paint Stalok-400".

So this should be a kind of threadlocker. But which one exactly is of course the question ?
Searching for Stalok-400 I did find some references to an USA starch company called A. E. Staley.

Has somebody any experience with using starch as a thread locker ? And if yes, are there any recomendations ?

In my case I do want to find the correct threadlocker for the 3 small screws that fasten the winder lever on a Rollei 35.
It should probably be a weak threadlocker as the slots on these small screws are easily damaged.

I have been using nail polish when needed on screws that eventually get loose. I never owned a Rollei 35 to see if that worked

Frank, I also use clear nail polish as a retainer for screws and nuts.
However I never did apply it to the thread itself.

Hans, I would think any corn starch may work. Starch hardens into a crystal form when dried.

Well, I just may give it a try. Maybe buy a Pritt glue stick as these seem to use starch as the main ingredient.

Still I would love to hear if anybody has hands-on experience with using starch as a (weak) threadlocker or any other threadlocker recommendations for these small Rollei 35 screws.
