I bought a Contax IIIa Colored dial camera that has a shutter curtain problem. The shutter curtain is metal & made up of small strips, and two of these strips have dis-engaged leaving a huge light leak in the shutter curtain. I pulled the camera apart so that I can see if I can repair this problem. After pulling off the top cover, light meter, front self timer knob, and 3 screws in the top plate the shutter assembly moves around and appears to be ready to be pulled out of the camera frame. But for some reason it will not come out, it just rocks around from side to side and it appears there must be something that I am missing. Please help. Thank you for your time. |

Hi Ron: It sounds like you've pulled the necessary screws. Sometimes the light seal strip in the groove across the back ties the shutter module to the chassis. If it's any help, i'll be happy to send you my sketches for this (email me).... doesn't sound like you really need them though. rick = |
