Hi, I just bought a Konica Auto S2. Everything seems fine except that shutter speeds below 1/8 of a second dont work, any suggestions?

Probably, your slow speed escapement needs cleaning.

To reach it, you have to unscrew the front filter ring, then another retaining ring under the lens hood, then (after lifting off the front lens ID panel) unscrew the front lens element and a sort of star-washer-shaped retaining ring on the front of the shutter. From there on, the shutter looks very much like this: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-55.html
The slow speed escapement is the thing identified as "timing gear set" on the sketch.

Hello Paul,

Another great site to help with the repair of a Konica Auto S-2 is here:

http://feuerbacher.net/photo/frame.html?repair/

Follow the links to cameras - camera repair articles (bottom of the page) - Konica S-2 overhaul

Good luck!

Jan

Good link, Jan. There is a really good article on replacing the pad in an Electro 35 too. I've been looking for an article on this since the pad in my GT needs replacing.
