The lense was dropped at a racing event and it will not auto nor manual focus. Focus ring rotates fine but it doesn't seem to engage to change focus. Please let me know if it is worth repairing or just spend the $150 to purchase new. Thanks, Michael |

My experiences show that the minimum charge for camera repair work will be around $125 (that was the charge 6 years ago when I worked in a camera store). That covers one hour of labor, parts extra. If you can buy a new lens for $150, go for it, a used lens would be cheaper than a repair. |

A lot of these AF lenses are very delicate; internal parts are mostly plastic, even the gears on some. Most likely you broke something that will have to be replaced. You should be able to find a replacement on eBay for less than $80.00 |
