If I'm not mistaken on most X-series Minoltas the metering circuit is turned off at the beginning of the release cycle and not turned back on until the windlock is tripped. And since your camera can't be wound, the release cycle hasn't completed. In these instances the first thing to do is remove the bottom cover and hold the windlock open and wind the camera. Henry |

It is looking likely then that the timing chip is blown. Only a careful trace of the circuit will tell. Do you have a schematic? Email me privately if I can be of further help. Henry |

Does the camera still fire on the "A" setting or just the manual shutter speed settings? It is very common for the electronic contacts to develop a petina on the surface that breaks the contact and kills the meter. You will have to clean the contacts onder the shutter speed dial and aperture ring. This may get the meter working again. |
