Well, I got this Oly OM-1, it is in good shape, but with a flaw: the shutter button doesn´t return after firing, and I cannot advance the film; opening the base plate, it seems that a lever is stuck after firing, it can be returned with a little force, but in the next cycle it stucks again; I flooded the gears, no results. must I go deeper ? Any clues ? the camera have sentimental value for me, in fact it was my first reflex camera, 30 years ago (I bought it in 1974, sold it to a family member, and now it returned to me). |

if the button is stuck because of sugar (pop, ice cream, etc) you can try a little denatured alcohol to disolve it. Water would, but you stand the chance of rust--use an eye dropper and let a couple of drops run around the trip and try pushing--maybe install a cable release so you can pull it back up. |

I tried your suggestion , but no results; the button remains depressed, I can unlock it only opening the baseplate and using some force to return the lever; thanks anyway. |
