Hi everyone. Anyone help me with the identity of my Werra. It's similar to a Werra 3 except that it has.
1.Black covering.
2.Frames around range/viewfinder windows.
3.Flash shoe.
4.WERRA logo under viewfinder window.
5.Shutter range (red 60-2B) 1sec - 750 (no 500)
6.Lens is Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 2.8/50 6121611
7.Frame lines in viewfinder x3.
8.ASA 6-800.
Thanks.
S.

Hi Paul. Yep, found all those the other day, can't see mine though I'm begining to think it's a Werra 3 with a flash shoe added by ???????. There's one on ebay now and apart from the flash shoe and the 3 in the logo it looks the same as mine? Thanks for taking the time to reply.
All the best.
S.

Given that Werra specs evolved over time, it may be that you've just got one that falls between the illustrations. Or possibly has been slightly accesorised?

I've got two junk flat-top ones, and one had a rather neat clip-on flash shoe that has to have been made for the flat-top model. Very neat - except the grooves it leaves in the nickel plate!

Looks like we may have to learn a bit of French!

While I can't pass comment on content (yet!), the design looks good and I like the "family photos".

A Google french/english translation:

Goodness... the joys of literal translations!

I particularly enjoyed "the "saga" of Werra continued until 1968; A total of about 560. 000 aircraft will have been produced." I knew they were well-engineered, but to aircraft standards?...

Seriously, thanks for posting that - it is clear enough to work out through the translator programme's flaws. I still must learn some French though!

Hi krg,

I posted you a message a few days ago - are you interested in them?

I also have a better idea for a swap - I have just bought a working but dirty and sluggish late Werra 1 (this model: http://licm.org.uk/livingImage/Werra_1.html) as a masochistic winter project.

It is missing the little plastic tabs on the shutter speed, making it very hard to turn.

I am happy to trade with you for a replacement ring with the tabs still intact.

Adrian
