Hi, I have a problem with my Canonet QL17 GIII. I've had it a few months and it's been wonderful but suddenly the shutter button seems 'locked', as if there is too much or not enough light in the automatic mode. No matter what I do, I am unable to depress the shutter button, in any mode at all. Is anyone able to offer any help on this matter? Thanks. |

Never mind! I found the problem. A Screw, part X91-173537, of the shutter button mechanism, had worked itself completely loose and was standing completely 180° around, preventing the button from traveling!! I will hence blame approximately 4000KM of rough, corrugated Australian outback roads (I returned from holiday there a little while ago). Regards, Ben |

I noticed that the shutter wouldn't depress if it's in A mode. Maybe your battery is dead? Try setting it to different apertures. |
