I bought a rolleifix quick release plate from KEH in ugly condition and it is missing one of the two screws that hook into the front of the camera. It looks like this should be easy to replace, perhaps using an M1.2 screw and a couple of nuts... has anyone here done something like this before? Any thoughts? What is a good source for such screws/nuts? Micro Tools does not seem to have the right ones.

No idea if I can help, but if you can email me a good photo and diameter and length, I'll look and see if I have anything that might work.
