I bought a Nikon F3 on ebay. It had been stuck in a draw for six years and when I put in a battery, it began by going very slow (8 second shutter speed lasted about fifty seconds, 30th second lasted about 1 second etc. It was only after I had tripped the shuttr about two or three hundred times that the speeds were corected. Even though they are okay now, I am anxious about this. Is it anything to worry about?

Sometimes us old men need a little exercise to get us up to our potential. Been using F's since Ektachrome was 3 and have 1 F3. I spent 20 years as a military photog and mine have never been in the shop, although one has a useless film counter from a bad tumble. Monthly use is what keeps the lube where it needs to be. IMHO the F3 is the perfect film camera.
