I recently bought a Weston Master 3 light meter.
but unfortunatly it does not seem to be working.
the little needle in the exposure screen will not move and seems stuck.
does anybody have any ideas what might be wrong with this light meter?
and how to fix it?
also does anybody know how to open up the body of the light meter to get inside it to have a good look around so i can have a look to see if anything looks out of place of broken.
Many thanks
Robert

you can find how to open a Weston Master III on this web. It looks like you have to poke some holes on the back of the meter. http://pheugo.com/cameras/westonmtr/westonmtr.html

The usual problems are either a jammed needle or a faulty sensor (the thing that gets the light)

I explain how to fix a light meter with a jammed needdle in this page: http://www.rusted.free.fr/2lightmetersandayashicaacamera.html

The most probable cause of the problem is a dud photocell and not a jammed/stuck needle. Here in UK there is a firm that will replace the cell and recondition the meter, however cost is generally more than the Master III is worth.
