My yashica minister d rangefinder is out of focus. I did 2 tests: 2 meters are interpretated as 1.2 meters and 6 meters are interpretated as 2.5

Any advice about recalibrating the rangefinder?

Hi Pablo, basically adjusting the angle of the mirror (vertical adj.) is similar to other RFs, but especially with the Ministers (D or 700) it is a bit tricky, as the round crosshead screw you have to turn for horizontal calibration tends to change the whole setting (it literally jumps out of focus!) if you turn too fast. Last time, on the Minister 700, it was a real pain, W.

Look for an adjustment screw that changes the rate at which the rangefinder mirror pivots. If necessary, you can pull off the whole rangefinder assembly to inspect the geometry of the rangefinder mechanism from underneath. Once you find the right adjustment screw, you have to make small trial-and-error changes until both close focus and infinity focus are accurate. A magnifier and groundglass at the film plane are needed to check that RF focus corresponds to film plane focus.

Magnifier and groundglass are not needed to adjust the rangefinder! They are needed to adjust the focus of the lens. When the focus of the lens is ok the rangefinder has to be adjusted to match the distance indication on the lens. These are independant processes.
