I borrowed a DSLR camera off a mate yesterday, and was out last night taking some long exposure shots. I just tried to set it to aperture priority before, and the mode dial is locked on Manual!

Well, not locked. It moves about .1 of a mm either way, like it is locked on the Manual setting, not locked in place, if you see what I mean.

Anyway, the camera is a Pentax *ist DL.

I do not know how to fix it short of opening up the top, which I do not have the right tools to do in any case, and I do not have enough time or money to get it professionally repaired.
I don't know what's wrong. I downloaded the manual off the net, and it mentions nothing about mode lock.

If anyone can help, that would be great!
