Just installed John Goodman's Light Seal kit on my Canon FX and FTb-QL. Was careful and did a creditable job (I hope). The foam mirror damper is shot on both cameras. The FTb-QL looks like I can handle it with care. But the FX, wow. There is a baffle(?) with two screws right in front of the rotted out damper; its going to be tough to get at that old foam and not grunge things up. Can I just unscrew the thing and remove it? However,I suspect its not going to be that easy. Very much appreciate some advice on how to clean up the FX. Its the first camera I bought new and I have babied it for 39 years.
Thanks for the help.
