Many people seem to be having trouble finding Pilabond cement for replacing camera leather. Pliabond was originally made by the Goodyear Rubber Co., but it is now made and marketed by the W.J. Ruscoe Company of Akron, Ohio. Ruscoe has a decent web site, I'd suggest you contact them if you can't find Pliabond in your area. I have absolutely no financial interest in Ruscoe and only know of them as a local chemical manufacturing company in South Akron. |

I picked up a bottle of Pliobond at my local Ace Hardware store yesterday. I suppose that most Ace stores would stock this product

I used to order Pliobond from the US through an SPT contact. To be honest, it was no better or worse than the UK rubber adhesive EvoStick. A good product for camera leathers which can probably be purchased worldwide is spray adhesive sold in carpet stores.
You can spray the back of the leathers then apply to the body. Clean up any odd bits of residue with Ronson lighter fluid. This product will stick 1000's of leathers per can and is effective. |
