There's a light leak in my hasselblad a-1 back and I'd like to fix it. Does anyone have any repair views they'd be willing to share with me or give some suggestions on how to go about fixing it?

back i mean the old 12 back, not the a-1 back. And ebay only has the a-12 back repair. If anyone knows either how I can fix it, or where I can get that specific repair manual, let me know.

The method and tools are the same for a 12 or A12

The light trap parts are the same for the 12,A12,24,A24,A16, and the 70mm film magazines. All have 9 screws holding the face plate.

Very easy repair, should take no more than 10-15 minutes.

When I worked on blad backs I would replace the black string if it was compressed or worn, where the two housing parts insert, also Hasselblad has the kit to replace the strips, the older backs even used metal vanes instead of foam where the dark slide inserts..Don

As Krp menioned, these backs do indeed use the same light seals. When buying light seals why not ask your Hasselblad distributor/repair person? The come cheaper than the ones on eBay and they're the genuine parts.

Instructions for changing light seals may be found on hasselbladhistorical.

It won't take you more than 5-10 minutes but make sure żou have the proper screw drivers.
