hi,i've a pentax mg in a state of mid repair,i've replaced the mirror which someone kindly broke and unstuck the shutter which looked like half a tonne of grit had been happily residing in.my problem is the led's aren't working,whice makes me think,could it be the chip.i've checked some of the circuitry,but i can't find any data or factory sheets on this model.could anyone help please.otherwise it's joining my scrap box.thank you ade.

The chips on the MG are amazingly robust. The metering LED array is switched ON by first pressure of the shutter release. The under-top-plate contacts of such are the first port of call.
Of course there are countless othe possibilities - such as for instance a bad connection or faulty ground wire.
But I'd regard the aforesaid Switch as the prime suspect.
