When I press the light meter activation buttton the needle always shoots right to the top of the scale whatever appeture, shutter or ASA setting. I assume it is faulty. Has anybody got any ideas ? Can it be fixed and how should I go about it ?

Hi, Are you sure the lens is stopping down correctly? If I remember correctly, the 605 has stopped-down metering.
Regards.
