Hi,

I have a XG9 and its shutter fires alays at same speed (it sound like 1/60 sec to ear), no matter what you set the shutter speeds.

is this another cap problem or this time magnet is the suspicious piece?

Any ideas how to fix this?

Regards,

The XG-9 has the older, higher quality caps. That's not likely the problem.

That said, the XG-9 can be the most problematical of the XG series. It's very prone to damage from off-brand flash units which can tank the integrated circuits, which can cause a variety of problems, yours included.

But you have nothing to lose by taking it down for good cleaning (magnet). It may solve the problem, but if not, you are no worse off than before.
