Hi all, please could anyone assist with this one. I have a 1983 Canon F-1N with a broken Diaphram Release Lever (Possible P/n. 13-9573) ...

Can any one supply or know a man who can?

Many thanks in anticipation.

John

I have always found that professional repair firms are willing to supply from their stock of parts bodies, items that do not normally break/fail. Find your local Canon specialist and ask, cash in the bank is better than a bin full of scrap bits.

Hi Glenn, thank you for your comments, however over here in England there are virtually no repair firms supporting the F-1N now.

Anyone care to offer a good sound supplier - Worldwide is fine!

Thank you
John

John,
I am located in Leeds. For a starter try the repair firms that advertise in the AP, most have quite large 'graveyard' stocks and I am sure somebody will have a F-1N or two in the bin. I have had great success obtaining old Canon bits from Colchester Camera Repairs, they have been Canon specialists for years. Do Google search for their website info.

Hi Glenn, thank you for the input however CCR were next to useless and said they have not had parts for several years and have no wrecked bodies either.

John,
Look in the back of the AP and try the firms who advertise there. I knew CCR had used/sold the last of their FD factory spares. I suppose the problem with the F-1N is that they don't wear out easily, the only chance of a damage body will be one that has fallen off a cliff or under a bus! Having said that, I have seen some pretty poor examples at recent camera fairs - so there must be some about.
