Not too long ago I picked up a Pentax Sportmatic SPII from e-Bay. It works fine except that the meter is two-stops "pessimistic" (i.e. indicates exposure two stops greater than required). I believe the problem can likely be fixed, but I need to be able to take off the top cover plate to work! I've looked around on the web for a Spotmatic SPII repair manual, but I couldn't find one. Can anybody here provide step by step instructions for removing the cover? Thanks |

Al, I have a service manual for a Spotmatic. It is is practically the same camera, the only difference being the hot shoe of the SPII. I can email it to you, it is in a pdf file, about 1.2 MB. You can either post your email address here, or send me a 'private message' by clicking on my user name. Cheers, Jan |

I found the NatCam service manuals to be the finest; the SPII should be similar to SP (found on Mark Roberts' site here): http://www.robertstech.com/manuals.htm The potentiometers for low and high light adjustment are located on the CdS circuit board in the viewfinder assembly, if I remember correctly.
