Dear all,

One of the diafragm/iris springs of my pancolar lens is defective. It is very much elongated. It was left for an extended period in the elongated position. Anyway, any suggestions for a replacement part? I tried some springs I had on hand, but it seems they were either too strong or too weak. (not opening it at all, or closing of iris is prevented).

Thank you all!

Unfortunately I can not help, but can you tell me which is the elongated position? I ahve the Pancolar myself and it would be useful how to store it so this do not happen to me too.

There are two springs, I'd try to exchange them in case they're equal. If this doesn't help, you have (apart from finding a substitute) to shorten the spring: anneal + cut off + temper back. But this is complicated as far as you could easily make this spring too tight or too weak, resulting new/old problems.
To Eugen_mezei: no way to avoid tension as there are 2 springs, either way - one is always under tension. I'm talking about zebra version. Later version I don't know.
