Hi, I just bought few japanese cameras (TARON auto EE, Taron VIC, PETRI 1.9). There are some little works to do and I need to remove the top cover. Everything's ok till... the evil chrome screw of the arming lever. Could somebody tell me if those screw are left or right handed, and could recommand a efficient friction tool (I've tried with a rubber piece but the screws won... and didn't move a millimeter!) I imagine pliers is not a good solution (perhaps to calm my poor nerves...) Thanks to the one who could give me some help against the vicious japanese engineers who imagined those "creatures". around 20 cameras (retinas, argus, frankas, baldas, voight and various range finders cameras fron 60's and 70's). I was successfull in shutters repairing, range finder cleaning is usually quite simple for me. Not so skill in lightmeter and electronic problems. I must admit that I prefer to give a new life to an old camera rather than have a cute one which is not working. So, not a fully beginner but lot of things to learn! |
