Hello all,

I have Minolta Hi-Matic 7s rangefinder camera that needs CLA and rangefinder adjustment. What repair shop in the US would you recommend?

Thanks!

Hello Nick,

You don't say where in the US you are... Just about any competent camera technician should be able to work on the 7s.

You will however find, that the labour costs will far outweigh the value of the camera. I would not be surprised if the cost for a CLA and RF adjustment ran close to $60 - $90.

Check on eBay - there are many Hi-matics available and quite cheaply; You might be able to find a fully functional camera for less than the cost of the CLA.

Just my 2 cents....

Best,

Jan

Thanks Jan,

I think you're right. I might as well look for a used one in good condition, instead of trying to have mine repaired.

Best,
Nick

As this is a forum mainly for those interested in a DIY repair, why not give it a try (if there is nothing else to lose than a camera that is defective anyway)?
