My Nikkormat EL seems to have died. No battery check light with new battery and the shutter at 1/90 only. Any ideas, and is it worth repairing (and can it be?)

A total failure like that may be better news than a partial failure, as it may point to something simple like the battery terminal rather than a circuit board. The first place I would look is the (-) terminal at the battery box, and its solder connection to the main power wire.
