When I press the shutter release, the mirror comes up and the 85mm lens of my Kowa six closes its diaphragm stops down and shutter closes as per normal, but then there is a pause of about a second before the shutter clicks and the exposure made. The shutter itself runs off properly at all speeds when it gets around to it. I am wondering about the advisability of removing the lens cells and squirting a little lighter fluid around the base of the lens.

Actually there may be nothing wrong with the lens and lighter fluid may only do harm; there's no delay when I operate it off the camera from the tabs on the back of the lens. Similarly the triggering mechanism on the camera side operates decisively. I must admit to being baffled.

Mounting the lens is a bit fidgety, and the lens cocking/release tabs don't quite align with their index position. I'll take off the base plate and see what I can see; any advance guidance appreciated.
