Hi All,
I'm trying to remove the front element of my Pentax 50mm f1.2 to remove the mould that is flourishing inside. With other Pentax lenses, the front element assembly is accessed by removing the plastic ring that carries the name, serial no., etc and then unscrewing the front group. However, with the f1.2 the name ring only seems to unscrew so far before it meets an obstruction in the form of the filter thread. That's to say that unlike the f2, 1.7, 1.8 & 1.4 the 1.2 name ring doesn't seem to use the filter thread - it seems to use a bigger diameter thread deeper in the barrel. Also the name ring seems to secure the front element as when I unscrew it the couple of turns it will go, the front element becomes slightly loose.
Any ideas, please? All suggestions greatly appreciated!
Best wishes,
Steve
