My Vivitar 285HV flash is misbehaving. I turn it on, it powers up, I hear the capacitor charging, but when I push the test button or put the PC cable to a camera and fire the shutter, it doesn't flash. When I tap the base of the flash unit, it starts working for a while. Then it cuts out again. I'm pretty sure it's fixable, but I can't seem to get into the bottom half. Are there any ideas as to how I can access what's probable a broken wire?
