Siblings were playing with this camera, just pulling back the lever and hitting the shutter over and over again.
Now it's stuck, and won't close all the way.
I'd really appreciate some help here since I'm a newbie at repairing anything. |

Have you already tried setting the shutter setting selector to X or B? It's kind of a manual mode (shutter will fire even without batteries).
Sometimes it helps. |

I'm starting to think that the camera was already a bit busted before I blamed my brother lol.
I did change it to both X and B and tested the shutter a couple times. I guess it helped a bit since I had a completely closed shutter more than a half-closed one, but the thing still has trouble doing its job. I noticed that I seldom get the completely springback when I press the shutter. Is there a solution for this, or am I just going to have to deal with light-leaking photos?

Thanks for the update Neopluto,
sorry I can't tell anything more. Mine is working so I did not have to look into it and I have currently film loaded so that I can't have a closer look.
Maybe somebody else here has a solution.

I have some sketches... they don't tell you much, but they might get you to where you can at least SEE the shutter..... |
