Some 3 years ago I took apart my rolleicord front, owing to a wife who didn't like my spending time on cameras it never got put back together, I am now trying to remember how to do that, my problem is the lower taking lens, and the internal lens behind it. Do they have to be put together with any kind of precision or focus or do they just screw back into their respective places ?, and are there any adjustments afterwards
Thanks guys

They should just screw back. You can check by holding the focusing screen against the filmgate to see if you perhaps inverted a lens element.
If you unscrewed the (top)viewing lens you will need to adjust that to focus at the same distance as the taking (lower) lens.

The neighbours look funny at you anyway when you leave the house with a rolleicord hanging from your neck.
The film gate is where the film would sit. If you take the back off you can hold the focusing screen where the film would sit and if you cover yourself with a cloth (blanket) like the realy old time photographers you can see the image that that the taking lense normally projects onto the film. If you got the front off it should be no problem getting the hood off (if you have a fixed hood model, the detachable hoods are even easier) to lift the screen out.

Well Lucas, I not only put the lenses back in but I had to take the synchro compur shutter apart,I had the service manual so that was a bit of fun as I have never done one, luckily I had purchased some tools a few years ago for my yashica mat, so they were handy. I forgot why I took the lense out till I tried the shutter and found out!!!. Oh well seems to be working again now.

All i have to do now is set the lense up with each other as you told me.

Thanks for the help it was appreciated.

As for neighbours, dont get me started, he's 80 and an alcolohic. last week was like a scene from "miami vice" at his house when he fell over and smashed his head in his house. He blamed some mysterious mugger inside his house!!!.
