Hi,

I've just replaced the film rewind lever and assembly on my FM2. In doing so the rewind shaft felt out of the camera and, without me thinking much of it, the camera back closed.

Now, how can I open the camera back (or remove the camera back) without this mechanism? I have searched for removing the back (which I thought would be straightforward) but can find no information.

Any helpers?

Gary

Insert something like a crochet needle into the hole to hook the spring lever that's inside, then pull upwards.

Thanks for the tip. Trying this now but having some difficulty locating the internal spring/mechanism to manipulate for release. Will persist!

Update: this worked, finally. Tried with a crochet needle, but the length wasn't enough. Instead I used a thick-gauge wire and it did the trick.
