I've been given an OM-2s "to look at". It's basically sound but the shutter curtain, in its rest (released) position, is loose. When winding, it tightens up after about 2 teeth on the motor drive gear. (Likewise, the curtain, open at B, shows about 1/8 inch of the second curtain intruding into the frame area).

I assume whoever last repaired it didn't hold their mouth right when setting up the shutter curtains. I don't know, however, if it's possible to reset this position without tearing everything down. Anyone else know?

Hello Eben

I'm no expert on Olympus OM2s, but I know and have used the model you describe. From your description of the problem, I'd have to say it does not sound good. I would urge you to seek professional advice on the state of the camera. The OM2 is a great little unit!

All the best. Edward.
