My Canon G9 hit pavement yesterday when I bent over. Now, every photo I take is washed out and has fuzzy pink horizontal lines. The effect is similar to how film photos look if they were exposed to light- the colors are distorted and stripes appear. However, they don't appear like that on the screen or through the viewfinder- only after they are taken. It's not the memory card and it's not the battery.

If you have any ideas as to what the problem could be, or even who/where else to ask, that would awesome. I'm really attached to this camera, and replacing it would cost upwards of $900!

This is what a picture I took today looks like. Some of the blurriness can be attributed to zoom, but certainly the color distortion and lines are a problem.

A Canon G9 is not exactly what is believed to be a classic camera in this forum (see forum guidelines).
Nevertheless I would recommend either a local Canon repair service (try Canon website for a listing)or a replacement. Used ones from dealers should be available for around 300 US$ over ebay (US).
