I am trying to restore a Ansco Super Regent (same design as the Agfa Super Solinette, I believe).

It's got a number of problems, but the first one I went for is the very stiff focus ring. I want to take it apart and get new grease into the helical. I also want to get the focus ring itself off because it feels stiff and corroded, too.

But I can't figure how to get it off. I took the whole shutter off, and also took out the four tiny screws from inside the bellows, and tried to pull the focus ring off. I can't what else could be holding the focus ring on. Do I have to start drilling out the door hinge rivets?

Has anybody done this repair who can tell me what I am doing wrong?

If you look at the rear lens element there is an
outer ring with slots for a lens wrench and this
ring has to be removed.

The focusing helical is a multiple thread design
and when reassembling the focusing ring has to be
started at the same thread or your rangefinder
will be off.
