Hello. We've had a Pax M4 for some time now and I just got it out of storage to try and test it out. seems everything works well except for the film crank does not seem to advance the film. I cant even get it loaded properly. Any ideas on what could cause this? Bad spring perhaps? This seems like it may be a simple fix but I have never attempted to repair a vintage camera. Thanks for any info.

Try spinning the sprocket wheel inside and see if it all snaps back like it should and works again. Your advance lever isn't frozen is it?

The advance lever works fine. When cranking though the sprocket only turns a little bit. If I move the sprocket by hand it will sometimes lock the lever but a push of the shutter release will unlock lever but not release shutter. if i release the shutter and crank again the sprocket will sometimes advance as what seems to be normal operation.
